CMA CGM has announced a price increase in July!
Due to multiple factors such as rising demand, the Red Sea situation, and port congestion, shipping prices have continued to increase since the beginning of June.
Leading shipping companies like Maersk, CMA CGM, and Hapag-Lloyd have successively announced the latest peak season surcharges and price increase notices, affecting routes to the United State, Europe, Africa, the Middle East, and more. Some shipping companies have even issued rate adjustment notices effective from July 1st.

Peak Season Surcharge on U.S. Routes
CMA CGM has issued a notice on its official website, announcing the implementation of a Peak Season Surcharge (PSS) for shipments from Asia to the United States, effective from July 1, 2024 (date of loading) until further notice. The details are as follows:
FROM: Asia (including China, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macau SARs, Southeast Asia, South Korea, and Japan)
TO: United States
Cargo Type: Dry containers, refrigerated containers, OOG containers, and breakbulk cargo
Rates:
- USD 2,160 per 20′ container (all types)
- USD 2,400 per 40′ container/40HC container/40′ refrigerated container
- USD 3,040 per 45′ container (all types)
- USD 3,840 per 53′ container (all types)
CMA CGM has issued a notice on its official website announcing the implementation of a Peak Season Surcharge (PSS) effective from July 3, 2024 (date of loading) for shipments from Asia (including China, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macau SARs, Southeast Asia, South Korea, and Japan) to Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. The surcharge will be USD 2,000 per container for all types of cargo, until further notice.
Peak Season Surcharge for West Africa
CMA CGM has issued a notice on its official website announcing the adjustment of the Peak Season Surcharge (PSS) for shipments from China to West Africa, effective from June 7, 2024 (date of loading) until further notice. The specific rates are as follows:

TO: Northern West Africa (Liberia, Senegal, Mauritania, Gambia, Guinea, Sierra Leone, Guinea-Bissau, Cape Verde, São Tomé and Príncipe) and Southern West Africa (Angola, Congo, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Namibia, Gabon, Cameroon)
